Here at QA Accounting Solutions, we value our small business community and we are working hard to do our part to help small businesses through these uncertain times. One of our primary initiatives in light of COVID-19 has been to advocate on behalf of business owners and their families with our City leaders to assure access to loan programs.

As of today, the Paycheck Protection Program, which is a program created by the CARES Act, is now open for application for small businesses and sole proprietors. This program could help you and your company obtain loans to help with payroll costs, interest on mortgages, rent, and utilities. You can access this Small Business Administration backed program by reaching out to the bank with whom you already have an established banking relationship. You can also apply through any existing SBA 7(a) lender or through any federally insured depository institution, federally insured credit union, and Farm Credit System institution that is participating.

A second program, the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program is also taking applications. As a part of this program, you can get a loan advance of up to $10,000 of economic relief for businesses that are currently experiencing temporary difficulties. See details and apply through the Small Business Administration.

Both programs are a part of the CARES Act, which offers more than $350 billion in support for small businesses, that the President signed into law last week. Angie’s List, acting on your behalf, asked Congress to provide relief and protection directly to America’s local home service professionals amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We understand how these funds are crucial to supporting your business during this time and are glad it is now available.

As a small business, you may be able to apply for both programs, subject to additional requirements and so long as the funds are used for different purposes.
